Smaller is back in vogue, at least as far as Gateway notebooks are concerned. The company best known for its customizable desktops is getting back in to the notebook market, this time with a 12.1-inch model that weighs less than 4 pounds.

It’s two models, actually, so you have a bit of a choice. Or, if you want one for home and for business, you can do that, too. The NX100X, prices at US$1,399, is for your home use; the E-100M is for your business use and will sell for US$1,598.

Both models will sport the U1300 Ultra Low Voltage Core Solo processor from Intel. You can buy both models today, but neither will be available for shipping for another month.
