NVIDIA GPU powers new Kyocera phone

Kyocera’s new phone features a GPU from NVIDIA.

The specifics: The 3G phone is the W41K, a CDMA EVDO phone with 45MB of internal memory and miniSD expansion, a music player, a 3.17 megapixel camera, QVGA resolution main display and OLED subdisplay, anti-shake technology. THE GPU is the NVIDIA GoForce 4000, which specializes in JPEG compression and decompression.

This phone is available now in Japan. Whether it will be available elsewhere remains to be seen.
