Grundig’s new handsets have UMTS, take great pics, or do next to nothing
Grundig has just unveiled a trio of mobiles that almost cover all the bases. There’s no flip phone here, but they’ve got a unit that can transfer data at blazing UMTS speeds, an excellent picture-taker, and a handset for those who want to keep it simple.
The G550i might not be much of a looker. Its bland black candybar design may throw you off, but if you delve into its spec sheet, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that it comes with UMTS, a 1.3MP shooter for pictures and movies, video telephony, Bluetooth connectivity, and microSD for expansion. It’s got an MP3 player built in, and stereo speakers to boot, as well.
If “capturing the moment” is more your thing, you might want to look into the X3000 slider. Besides its SD expansion slot, Bluetooth capabilities, MP3 playback, and QVGA display, there is also a 3-megapixel camera to be enjoyed – you can’t miss the big honking thing on the back of the handset.
Last (and least) is the entry-level A115/A155. This very basic tri-band candybar comes with a handful of games, a VGA camera, and not much else.
Grundig has not revealed pricing or launch information as of yet.
