Peugeot has a strong heritage, especially when it comes to rally-style racing, but what do you do when your customers are demanding some beefier muscle for their everyday grocery getters? You give it to them; that’s what you do. Peugeot is set to unleash versions of its 407 sedan and SW wagon onto the European public that are powered by an incredible 2.7-litre V6 turbodiesel.

This engine puts out 205 horsepower at the crank, and even more impressively, a whooping 330 lbs-ft of torque. If that doesn’t get your juices going, I don’t know what will. That said, if you’re hoping to get your mitts on that power in an entry-level Peugeot, you’ll be disappointed to hear that this V6 monster will only be available in the company’s top-of-the-line Executive trim level.

Peugeot also announced a Sport trim level that features half-leather upholstery, a CD changer, parking sensor, and colour multi-function display.

Look for the V6 turbodiesel’d Peugeots to hit European showrooms beginning in May at a yet to be determined price.
