Sportec dials a Porsche 911 up to 800 horsepower

You would be pretty hard pressed to find anyone who wouldn’t be happy with a shiny new Porsche 911. That car is an all-time classic, and for good reason. Sportec, the Swiss Porsche tuner, wasn’t happy with the 911 in its production form, though. They tweaked and changed and adjusted and they ended up with the Sportec SPR1, a Porsche 911 on steroids, that was unveiled in Geneva last week. The numbers are sick. It sports 800 horsepower and can go 0-62 mph in 3 seconds flat. If you like that you’ll love the 0-124 mph in 8.7 seconds and the top speed of 236 mph.

How’d they pull it off? They aren’t being very specific. The modifications included ‘manufactured drive components and axles’, ‘electrically adjustable high-performance chassis’, and a ‘luxuriously dimensioned brake system’. In other words, they want you to mind your own business and just enjoy the car.
