UK-based Rock is the first to introduce a notebook with the Xtreme CTX notebook equipped with the Mobility Radeon X1800 XT GPU from ATI, which is touted as the ‘fastest mobile graphics card’ in the market today. Indeed, with 256MB of memory, 16 pixel shader cores and support for concurrent high-definition rendering and anti-aliasing, this latest ATI processor is THE graphics card highly coveted by those who want their games to look great even if they are a good distance away from their desktops.

The new Rock notebook runs on Intel’s Core Duo dual-core processor, which enables the Xtreme CTX to perform at levels previously not possible with thin laptops. It is also equipped with H.264 HDTV decoding hardware acceleration features.

So what more do you get from the Xtreme CTX? You get a 17-inch WSXGA+ (1680×1050) X-Glass screen, Serial ATA 7200rpm hard disk drive, Corsair DDR2 667MHz memory, Wi-Fi connectivity, a Web camera and Bluetooth features. In addition, the new laptop carries Rock’s standard warranty offering of 3 years on laptop parts and required labor.
