SMC ships mobile wireless VoIP gateway to U.S.

Both wireless access and VoIP aren’t always as accessible on the road as business travelers would like or need. SMC’s new device is an all-in-one travel networking kit which will allow travelers to take control of their needs more easily. The SMCWTVG, or Wireless Travel Voice Gateway, combines a wireless gateway and VoIP analog telephone adapter into one small and easily portable device. It comes in a pouch along with all the cables you need and an AC adapter.

As a gateway it is a high-speed wireless router that can operate in three different modes. It can be an 802.11b/g access point, a wireless client for PC connections to Wi-Fi networks, or as a wireless repeater. It is easy to set up and secure, with a firewall, VPN pass-through and multiple forms of encryption. It connects to the ADSL, Cable or wired network using a built-in 10/100 BaseT port.

The SMCWTVG will be available starting April 1 in the U.S. for $129.99.
