A big trend these days in the automobile industry is packing in as much utility as you can into as small a package as you can. Sure, this mentality has long since permeated European society, but it is only lately that North Americans have begun to adopt this philosophy. The Geneva Motor Show this week is a great place to check out what’s coming up in the car world, and it seems like Suzuki’s little SX-4 will be heading to the United States this summer as a 2007 model.

The look of the Suzuki SX-4 might make you think “Europe only”, but this small crossover vehicle is great for commuters on the go. It seems to be bigger than the ultra-compact Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris, but it is certainly smaller than a lot of vehicles on the road these days.

Fuel economy should be excellent, but as a result, don’t expect a heck of a lot of “umph” out of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Both 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmissions are available, as are 2- and 4-wheel drive versions.
