The Pentax 645 will finally arrive, if initial PMA reports are accurate.

This troubled model, an 18 megapixel medium format DSLR that will have an extra-large CCD image sensor, was first revealed to the general public in May 2005 and has been dealt a series of setbacks in the intervening weeks. The camera manufacturer, however, says that it will be presented at PMA next week and will be available for general purchase this fall.

Also scheduled to be unveiled is an as-yet-unnamed 10 megapixel DSLR model, designed to compete with Canon and other manufacturers.

Pentax also announced the addition of a 10th lens compatible with its digital SLR models. The lens is interchangeable and has a uni-focal wide-angle. The lens will be available in June.
