The 2006 Geneva Motor Show doesn’t open its doors until next Thursday (March 2nd), but here is a sneak peek at one of the better looking concepts expected to be there. They say that the Aero-X “boasts the sexiest shape ever seen on a Saab”, and I think I’d have to agree. This is one great looking sports car, and is a definite departure from the “Saab-aru” appearance of a number of their vehicles.
The unique opening canopy certainly harkens to the brand’s aircraft heritage, and it will definitely turn a few heads. I guess automakers are trying to come up with more and more interesting ways for us to get in our cars, since guillotine and scissor doors are starting to become a little blasse. Being a true sports car, the Aero-X concept only comes with two seats. Lighting, both inside and out, is LED, which seems to be a growing trend in the industry.
Drooling over these pictures, unfortunately, is the closest we’ll probably ever come to this car, because they say the Saab Aero-X is not planned for production. It is, however, a sign of things to come.
