Asus laptop gets clad in pink leather

At the risk of peeving off just about every PETA member, Asus is releasing its S6 notebook computer wrapped up in real cow-hide leather. Sure, you could have already gotten your hands on one clad in light, dark or white leather, but now the electronics maker is giving us the over-the-top chic Valley girl look with one enclosed in PINK leather.

This 12” widescreen laptop doesn’t have regular ol’ textureless leather, either. Asus says that this season, their design philosophy surrounds the concept of “haptics”, or the sense of touch. You can even treat your sense of smell, according to Asus, because “you’ll be able to smell the difference!” Interestingly, Marcus Weiercoch, design guru over at Asus, says that the decision had nothing to do with appealing to girls, per se, because “in IT, gender differentiation is not that important.”

So if you like the smell of dried meat stripped flesh, and would even like it more around your laptop, the price of $2400 just might be in your range for this leather-clad Asus S6 laptop.
