In this totally connected world of ours, I’m not really sure how you would be able to go 18 days without finding a power outlet, but that didn’t stop little Haier from announcing its V280 mobile phone, which packs an incredible 432 hours of standby time. The phone might not be much of a looker, but on the plus side, you won’t worry much about charging on those 2-week road trips.

The V280 – no relation to Motorola’s V series of handsets – comes with a bilingual dictionary. It’ll also do your standard MMS dance, as well as snap your spur of the moment pictures with its 1.3 megapixel camera and do DV recording, but really not much else. It’s a pretty basic phone, and that probably has a lot to do with its camel-like ability to go without food..er, electricity for so long.

According to the pictures found on aving.net, the Haier V280 also comes bundled with (or is it in?) a “Special Inside” box, whatever that means. No word on price or availability.
