There is yet another way for you to access Skype. Soon we will all just be connected to Skype all the time. This time Skype has teamed up with Hutchinson, the 3G wireless company, to make Skype VoIP services available on 3G phones. That means that we will see Skype as a value-added feature on Hutchinson handsets soon.

That doesn’t mean, of course, that cellular carriers will embrace Skype any time soon. Using 3G data transmission speeds, users could offer flat rate call services with unlimited voice calls along with video and instant messaging. That would be a dream for consumers, but a true nightmare for the consumers who rely on the minute by minute charges and the overages to make their money. They’d still be selling the data transmission, but they will have to scramble to make it work. Regardless of what the companies will face, the pressure will be a tremendous benefit to customers.
