As if the MacBook Pro is not innovative enough for Apple and for laptops in general, the computer company is intending to introduce a 17-inch variety of the model.
The Apple MacBook Pro is the company’s top-of-the-line laptop series that packs unprecedented features. It is the first Apple notebook to utilize Intel’s Core Duo processor. This new chip technology is technically composed of two chips, integrated into one. As a result, it outperforms the Powerbook G4 by up to four times. The 17-inch model will have at least 2.16GHz of processing rate.
The MacBook Pro is also the first laptop series from Apple that has a Serial ATA hard disk, and PCI Express. Processing high quality videos and images are easy with the MacBook Pro since it has the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 for its graphics chip. This multimedia capability will of course be further appreciated with a 17-inch size screen.
Video conferencing is also possible, the unit has an integrated iSight camera located above the screen.
The introduction and release of the 17-inch version of the MacBook Pro is estimated to take place by the time its World Wide Developers Conference takes place in June. The only possible hindrance is the lack of an 8x SuperDrive slim enough to fit inside the laptop, which is rumored to be just as thin as the 15-inch model.
