The vacuum cleaner that looks like an electric razor, or a Star Trek phaser, or a bicycle helmet. It’s only one of the above, a vacuum cleaner.

It’s from Alessi, and it busts dust with alacrity. It is rechargeable (of course—see any wires?). It also has a handy crevice tool, for sucking dirt out of those hard-to-reach places. And it has a wet nozzle, for slurping up those juice or coffee spills.

The device is made of stainless steel and white thermoplastic resin. It measures 38.5cm x 11.5cm, with a height of 14cm.

The U.S. price is hovering around $100 or so. Consumers should know that to recharge it in the U.S., they will need to buy a separate adapter.

The vacuum cleaner is designed by famed postmodern artist and architect Stefano Giovannoni, who is now designing, among other things, household appliances and accessories and even cars—all with bold, colorful, forward-looking designs.
