Samsung is set to introduce a compact and easy to carry smartphone, the i320. Proof of this is its 95-gram weight and its 11.5 mm width (dimension in 111x59x11.5 mm). While it is small in size, it is big on memory. The Samsung smartphone has an impressive 120MB integrated memory.
This already huge capacity can still be further increased through a micro SD slot.
Display is via a 2.2-inch, 65k QVGA screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. A 1.3 megapixel camera has also been integrated in the unit that is capable of capturing and displaying vivid images. It runs on Windows Mobile 5.0. Data input is also very convenient since it features a QWERTY keypad.
Roaming in other countries with the i320 is convenient since it can operate on a 900, 1800, and 1900Mhz band. It also supports EDGE and GPRS. Bluetooth technology provides a convenient method of connectivity as well.
The Samsung i320 is also a versatile media player. It supports a wide variety of media formats such as H.263, H.263, WMV and MPEG4. As for the audio file, it can play MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, WAV files.
The Samsung i320 is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2006.
