LG KG920 swivels in at 5MP, heads to Europe

It has been long since overdue for somewhere other than Korea and Japan to get a 5 megapixel cameraphone. Finally, Europe is going to be treated to the LG-KG920, a GSM handset that comes with a swivelling 5.0-megapixel camera complete with auto focus and flash.

It even comes with a lens cover. In effect, you no longer need to carry around a camera AND a cell phone, because this thing will do both and actually give you some excellent resolution.

If you’re worried about storage space, then just grab yourself a high capacity MiniSD card and shove it into the integrated slot. Preview and review your snapshots on the well-sized 2-inch QVGA display. Connectivity and handsfree aren’t a problem with USB and Bluetooth support.

No word on exact pricing or launch dates just yet, but they say that “LG plans to introduce the KG920 in Europe this year.” Yes, that narrows it down.
