MacBook Pro now faster and now shipping

Apple will begin shipping the new 15-inch MacBook Pro notebook computer with the latest Intel Core Duo processor, claiming to deliver four times the power over the PowerBook G4.

The MacBook Pro offers a built-in iSight video camera, 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 1GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM and a 100GB SATA hard drive. This model sells for $2,499 US. You can drop the processor to 1.83 GHz, the ram to 512MB and the 80GB SATA harddrive to save yourself $500. Or you can go the other way and boost the processor up to 2.16GHz, the ram to 2GB, or a 120GB harddrive.

Originally when Apple announced the MacBook PRO we were told that they would come with 1.67 GHz and 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo chips, this has changed for the better, and just in time to ship.
