Four recently announced Nokia phones will include F-Secure’s Mobile Anti-Virus package, a furthering of the relationship between the companies.

The N71, E60, E61, and E70 will all have the enhanced virus security. The N71 will come with the package already installed on the memory card; the others will have the service available for download. F-Secure solutions have appeared in Nokia phones since 2004.

F-Secure, based in Espoo, Finland, provides real-time, on-device protection against viruses with automatic updates. It supports phones running Symbian OS v9 and S60 3rd Edition.

Officials from both companies were pleased with the announcement and said it was one more joint step down a road toward what they hope approaches ironclad protection against over-the-air viruses.

“By combining our automatic antivirus solution with the enhanced security features of Nokia’s smartphones, we can provide a competitive solution against harmful content,” said Antti Vihavainen, Vice President, Mobile Security, F-Secure.
