I guess when they heard that the iPod was out of this world, the people at C6 MFG took it a little too literally. But hey, who’s complaining? The company known for superbly elegant products is releasing a set of High End Hot Carbon Fiber iPod Cases. You won’t find any cheap plastic or soft silicone stuff here. Instead, the rugged and sporty cases are constructed from aerospace-grade carbon fiber and aluminium, and are held together with stainless steel screws.

Because it’s made of carbon fiber, you can expect it add next to no weight to your favourite audio player, but at the same time, it should be strong enough to withstand both the elements and the worst of drops. Packaged in are a stainless steel belt clip and a cling-on screen protector.

The case isn’t exactly snap-on, so an assembly kit is included. Pick one up for the iPod Video for $49.99, or for the tiny iPod nano for $39.99.
