Most portable music players out there adhere to some variation of the rectangle, but we can always look to Asia for some creative spins on the genre. Instead of Korea or Japan, this time we turn to Singapore and find the soccer ball-shaped Shiro AS. Sure, it might cause an unsightly bulge in your pocket, but wouldn’t it look great hanging from your neck?

The specifications aren’t anything out of this world, but are adequate for many consumers. You’ll get 1GB of flash memory to go with a battery-conserving OLED display. In fact, the Shiro AS is said to provide 10 hours of juice. It’ll take your standard MP3 and WMA files, as well as having FM recording functionality.

If you happen to be down Singapore way this April, be sure to check out the Shiro AS. Or maybe by then, you’ll have the chance to buy an MP3 boombox that is the size of a full-on soccer ball. Now, wouldn’t that be cool?
