Video recording with a cell phone is nothing new, but Mobile TV is quickly becoming a very popular service among mobile phone users. Both of these attractive features are quickly advancing, and Hantro will be showing off their latest at 3GSM. The company based out of Oulu, Finland is developing technology that maximizes the environment presented by resource-limited cell phones.

The mobile manufacturer envisions “the mobile phone becoming the ubiquitous multimedia device,” providing customers with super high resolution recording, streaming DVD-quality video, and the up-streaming of movies to a PC or TV screen. In line with this will be Hantro’s DVB-H CBMS compliant Mobile TV handset. This mobile phone will take H.264/AVC video and enhanced aacPlus (HE AAC v.2) audio.

Among the other technologies to be featured at Hantro’s 3GSM booth will be devices that support a wide range of high quality video, including MPEG-4, H.263, H.264/AVC and VC-1 formats.
