If you like slim candy bar handsets, Cingular will soon have another option for you other than the Motorola SLVR L7. The nation’s number one service provider looked to Korea, and came home with the Pantech PG-C120. This dual-band GSM (850/1900) mobile weighs in at a mere 75 grams, and measures 103 x 42.5 x 13.5 mm.
The features, outside of its sleek look, aren’t particularly stunning. Unlike most phones in Korea, this handset doesn’t get a multi-megapixel camera and is rather stuck with a mediocre VGA. The screen comes in the form of a 65k color STN LCD (128 x 128). It doesn’t seem like you’ll find MP3 ringtones on this either, so you’ll have to be satisfied with the polyphonic versions. The 800 mAh lithium-ion battery will give you up to 180 minutes of talk time, and up to 250 hours of standby.
Although there has been no official announcement, the pictures coming out of the FCC are showing the Pantech PG-C120 with obvious Cingular branding. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for price and availability.
