The Meazura is a tough and rugged PDA that has received an IP67 certification. This means that it had an Ingress Protection score of 6 over 6 on dust protection and 7 over 8 in liquid protection. Simply put, you could throw a glass of water or store it in harsh conditions and still be able to use it without a glitch.
The unit has an ABS/Bayblend plastic shell, a perfect case for rugged use since it would be able to withstand blows or impacts, aimed for industrial use. Processing power is via Motorola’s 33MHz DragonBall-VZ chip. It has 16 MB of SDRAM and 4MB of flash memory. Although the user can only utilize 2MB of flash memory, this limitation has been addressed by a MZIO expansion slot that can recognize several flash formats.
The Meazura has a 4 bit grayscale display with a 160×160 resolution. Power is provided by a 1900mAh battery. It also has an efficient power-saving function. During idle mode, energy use is only at 21mA, going up 180mA during normal to heavy use.
The new Aceeca PDA with barcode scanner has a price tag of $400, it’s not cheap to be virtually indesctructable.
