If you’re like me, you’re a little confused by all the different mobile TV standards and services. Hitachi has created a new phone, the W41H, for Japanese consumers to access one such service – One-segment broadcasting. That service will be available in Japan from AU starting April 1. The Hitachi W41H gives you a 2.7 inch LCD display for prime viewing. The screen can be twisted and turned into a variety of positions for easy viewing. You can even record TV for later viewing. The TV tuner starts up automatically when you stick the phone in the charger.

When not watching TV, you can use the phone to listen to music with the AU Listen Mobile Service, surf the ‘net or view documents and take pictures with the 2.07 megapixel camera. It has a miniSD slot for extra storage. The phone measures 2 x 4.1 x 1.1 inches and weighs 5.6 ounces. No word yet on price or availability.
