Banshee Audio – 5.0 virtual surround sound for your iPod or PSP

Banshee Audio wants your iPod or PSP to sound better than it ever has before. Their new listening station is the first all-in-one 5.0 surround sound system for the devices. It comes in a small package (11.5” x 3” x 6”) that could easily sit on your desk, but it houses five individual speakers which combine to provide high-end sound precision and clarity.

The speaker provides 50 watts of power, which is more than enough to make your ears bleed if you sit close enough. It has enough bass to rock your socks, too. Uniquely, there is an extra output jack to plug in a woofer if you really want to get fancy. It lets you enjoy surround sound virtually, instead of having all the cords, equipment and expense that it can take otherwise.

It comes in separate models with cradles for the PSP or your iPod or other MP3 player. It will cost you $129 for the PSP version, or $149 to jack up the sound of your iPod. They will be available some time in March.
