If you are a BlackBerry user, you will soon be able to use both Google Talk and Google Local, after RIM, the Canadian makers of BlackBerry, announced that their platform will support the applications.
Google Talk for BlackBerry is a specifically tailored version of the program that will allow users to send and receive instant messages on the go. It allows you to seamlessly access your standard Gmail account and use the system and its features on your BlackBerry as you would on your PC. This version is integrated into the BlackBerry interface, meaning you can easily access the calendar from instant messages for scheduling, integrate conversations into your e-mail inbox and receive notification of new messages on your home screen.
Google Local for mobile will allow you to view maps and satellite imagery, get driving directions and locate the local business you need to find. It will include the click-to-call feature, meaning you can easily contact the business once you locate it.
Google Local is available starting today. Google Talk for BlackBerry will be available some time this spring. Both applications will be like most end-user services from Google; free.
