EA and Amp’d Mobile have teamed up to bring popular EA titles like FIFA 06, Madden NFL 06, NBA LIVE 06, Need for Speed Underground 2, and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06 to broadband wireless devices. The key seems to be using the capability of using EVDO technology. We’re talking much more than games on cell-phones here.
Likely depending on the power of your mobile device, the descriptions of the EA games include the ability to follow plays from various angles in the Madden Game, fine-tune Tiger Woods 06 to particular handsets and download the PC Sims in Sims 2 to a mobile phone, to name just a few examples. One of the main targets seems to be extreme adjustability to user experience.
The partnership extends to Pogo.com, a popular EA creation. Amp’d Mobile will honor Pogo cell-phone credit tokens that can be applied to online accounts. These can be used to win cash or prizes daily, weekly or monthly.
Seems like pretty soon you’ll be taking everything with you and fit it all on a cell phone. Sorry, mobile device.
