Korea and Japan are already miles ahead of us with the phones that are available. That gap just continues to widen with the new Samsung clamshell called the SPH H1000. Like so many popular models over there, it is a DMB phone. That means satellite TV on the go. You can watch that TV on the 2.2 inch QVGA screen. It has a TV-out feature so that you can watch images on a big screen.
Here’s where it gets really good. When you want to use the phone as a PDA, you just swivel the screen around and use the keyboard. And by keyboard I mean full QWERTY keyboard. It even looks to be big enough to be functional.
In case one camera won’t be enough, this phone has two. One is 2 megapixels, while its sharper cousin is 3 megapixels. You can even use this wonder to make VoIP calls. No word yet on what this phone will cost or when it is available, but it hardly matters since we won’t see it over here anyway.
