The Gotive H42 is not the kind of PDA that you slide into your pocket and forget about. This thing is freaking huge. It measures 230 x 94 x 34 mm and weighs 600 grams. There is of course a point to its size – it is designed for extreme field use in rough conditions. With a rugged shell casing in a huge 6.2” wide screen display, the H42 runs on a 512 Mhz Intel CPU with Windows CE.
It also offers the best in network connectivity – Bluetooth, GSM and WiFi. You can get add-ons which make it functional in a variety of uses, including GPS, smart card reader or bar code scanner. It can accept most memory cards for data storage.
The behemoth offers a docking station with both USB and serial ports. The shell is shock-resistant, so if your arms give out and it falls to the ground it should still be okay. That’s a good thing, because you might drop it when you see the price tag. It runs from $1600 to more than $3000 depending on how you configure it.
