Rockridgesound has made it even easier to get your own video content for the PSP, Nintendo DS or mobile phone with their new VRX-02 portable Video Recorder. It’s small enough to take anywhere at just 220×145x35mm. You can record right onto an SD card or Memory Stick without needing a computer. The display even shows the remaining capacity on the card so you know where you’re at. You have your choice of formats – MP4, 3GPP, 3GPP2, ASF and PSP – so you have lots of flexibility on one device. A timer lets you set the unit to record at a specific time.

There are three recording modes – Super Fine (320 x 240 dot / 30fps), Fine (320 x 240 dot / 15fps) and Normal (176 x 144 dot /15fps). You also aren’t stuck with just relying on the memory cards and your mobile device for playback. It comes with an AV cable which will let you playback on all sorts of audio visual equipment.

The first version of the VRX didn’t support the PSP, but you can get this version which does in Japan for about $135.
