Like you needed it, here is another reason to be jealous of the hardware that is available in Korea. The Panatech IM-8600 is a 5 megapixel camera phone with a rotating clamshell design. The camera features auto focus, close-up function, half top shutter and ‘Meca’ shutter. It has a 2-inch QVGA TFT LCD screen so you can see what you are shooting in vivid color. The phone measures 99×48.5×26.4mm and weighs 132 grams. All in all it is a pretty high-end phone, like so much of what we see on the Korean market.
At the same time, Panatech also announced the IM-8700 F2F or face-2-face. It is a phone designed for mobile video conferencing. It features an imaging speed of 10 frames per second and a 2.2-inch screen.
Both phones will be sold under the Sky brand name, but neither of them will be seen in North America.
