Yesterday as I was checking my e-mail, I noticed one that said it was from the FBI. Now I am used to getting vast amounts of spam, but this one intrigued me, so I decided to read it.

It was stating that I had visited over 20 illegal web sites and I was to download a survey, take the said survey, and e-mail it back to them.

Well, I was checking my email on my T-mobile Sidekick 2 so I didn’t instantly hit that download button, good thing too because apparently the email carries a strain of the sober virus.

PandaLabs, a California based firm, says this became one of the quickest spread viruses, mainly because the virus tricks the infected user into running files that contain the system code. It also can display a box that states there is are no viruses detected.

It has been noted that with each infection it will send a copy of the email out to those in the computers address book.

So work carefully when checking your emails since this new threat of virus seems to be undetectable with current antivirus software. Not only do we have to worry about the virus, but their tricky means of deception are also growing in complexity. Be smart, watch out, and don’t open files from anyone unless you are expecting it.
