The 6708 is a departure for Nokia. Up until now they have been loyal to their Symbian S60 interface for their phones. S60 can only support keyboard input, though, so Nokia has gone with a UIQ interface for the first time with the 6708.
The 6708 has just been approved by the FCC, it sports a large 208 x 320 screen while UIQ lets you write on it with a stylus. Talk is rated for 200 minutes, standby is 275 hours. It’s a pretty hefty handset, weighing 150 grams. It has a camera, but is only 1.3 megapixels, internal memory is just 18MB, but it does have a miniSD slot. USB 1.1 was used and Bluetooth, it comes preloaded with QuickOffice and MSN Mobile Messenger while running on the Symbian v7.0 OS.
No word yet on when it will be available or who will have it for us.
