Panasonic unveils W4 Toughbook

Panasonic has launched another model W4 in its series of tough notebooks. Like other models in the series, the W4 is also cased in a magnesium alloy case allowing for extra ruggedness and toughness for outdoor use and some rough handling. The Panasonic W4 is equipped with 512MB RAM expandable upto 1 GB, for data storage it has a 40 GB HDD, optical drive is a combo drive supporting DVD/CD-RW, Wi-Fi with 802.11a/b/g support and an anti glare LCD screen of 12.1” inches.

Other notable features of this model include a battery life of about 6 hours on full charge, an easy accessible switch to turn on/off Wireless LAN, and the hard drive is equipped with shock mounts, to top it up Panasonic also provides a removable hard drive with it.

The all new Panasonic W4 comes with an Intel M processor running at 1.2 GHz, pre-loaded with Windows XP and measures 1.0″/1.8″ x 10.6″ x 8.3″ and weighs just 2.8 pounds.

The Panasonic Toughbook W4 is retailing at an estimated street price of US $2,149 at several resellers in US. More information about this product can be found at Panasonic’s website.
