The Virgin Group is geared up to introduce the Virgin Digital Red Pass, which is intended to compete with other companies for the top spot in the subscription music services industry. Digital Red Pass offers music lovers unlimited access to Virgin’s library of over 2 million digital tracks (representing more than 15,000 record labels) for just US $7.00 monthly without any further contracts.

“We created this service because we wanted people to listen to and discover more music than they ever have before,” according to Virgin Digital president Zack Zalon.

All audio files downloaded can be easily moved to portable music players that are certified Plays for Sure. Red Pass also offers subscribers 60 professionally programmed Internet radio stations, CD ripping and burning features. And that’s not all – if users forget to renew their subscription, Red Pass will restore all their downloaded audio files and options once the account is reactivated. If for some reason, your PC crashes and you lose all your downloaded music, Virgin will replace these for free.

Another feature of the Red Pass is that with just the click of a button, any compatible portable player, notebook or mobile phone unit can be filled with your own personalized collection of music tracks. Other services include access to user rankings, playlists, and more.
