Just when you thought your wireless device could already do everything, along comes this. It has been several months since Nevada has begun to allow gambling on wireless devices in some locations in the state. You can risk real money inside the big casino resorts, including conventions halls, bars, restaurants and even the pool. You can’t play in your room yet, but that can’t be far off.

Not surprisingly, even though they endorsed it, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has some concerns. They want to make sure good regulations are in place so that minors and compulsive gamblers aren’t using their device to abuse the system. They may also look at setting spending limits so that people don’t get out of control.

The availability of wireless gambling is a welcome new development, because it has been such a challenge to find a place to gamble in Nevada up until now.
