We’ve all seen flash drives. We’ve all seen external hard drives. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to combine the minuteness of flash with the capacity of hard drives. Well, US Modular is on the cusp of releasing the Monstor Drive (no, that’s not a typo), a mini hard disk drive. About the size of a lighter (42.8×36.4×5mm), this tiny thing is only 16g.

This low power consumption (runs off the USB port), shock-resistant peripheral can transfer data at up to 6.5MB/s. It’ll come in 2GB, 4GB, and 6GB versions ranging from $99 to $399. Expect to see the Monstor Drive at a store near you this December.

Best of all, it’s chrome (well, stainless steel). So shiny.
