Aska’s affordable Tripper photo storage device

If you are an avid photographer, then the Aska Tripper may be just the thing for you. It’s a portable hard drive photo storage device sporting 20GB of space, a type 2 CF slot for photo transfers and a lithium ion battery. You can transfer the photos from your CF card with just the press of a button, which means you don’t need a PC to use it. The Tripper can also be used as an external hard drive for your laptop.

Simple drag and drop transfers are supported between the Tripper and your desktop computer. You can also get an optional CF converter so you can use smart media, memory stick and SD memory cards as well.

It’s a fine looking device, but without a screen to see what you are storing and with limited uses. Then again, where will you find a 20GB photo storage drive for $99? Probably in Japan. Aska also makes 40GB, 60GB and 80GB versions which sell for $170, $260, $299 and $399 respectively.
