Sure, it might have some impressive capabilities, but the MPIO FY700 is one silly looking mp3 player. The best I can come up with is it looks like something a kid would stick in the spokes of their bike to make it sound like a motorcycle. A hockey card works just as well and isn’t nearly as strange looking.

The upside is that it employs Multi Level Cell (MLC) NAND Flash, a rarity in the consumer market up until now. MLC may double the storage capacity of flash memory and lower the production costs. That sounds better than this unit looks.

No word yet on how much you would have to pay for the privilege of owning this beauty, which may could double as a stir stick for your cocktails. It will be released later this month in Korea.
