Accton Technology is jumping on the Skype bandwagon with their new Wi-Fi phone, the SkyFone WM1185-T. The phone allows use of VoIP-based peer-to-peer without the use of a personal computer. Talk time on a battery charge is four hours, with 20 hours of standby.

5,000 of the phones will be shipped in December for testing, while full shipments will begin in the first quarter of next year. The phones will initially be priced at about $150, though reductions in production costs will make the price fall below $100.

Accton also has dual mode phones with GSM and Wi-Fi in the works which we could see sometime next year.
