According to KTF, the archrival of the biggest mobile operation in Korea, SKT, increased their slim phone product line up. KTF said Monday that the “get-slimmer” frenzy has shifted from flip phones to slider phones. They are planning to release three new slim sliders this month, upping the antie. The new sliders to be offered are; Pantech’s PT-K1500, LG Electronics’ LG-KV5900 and Samsung’s SPH-V8400.
KTF claimed that it has teamed up with Samsung, LG and Pantech & Curitel to release slim slider phones that competing mobile operators don’t have in their product line-up.
“The first thing that customers consider in buying cell phone is design. As slim slide phones offer better portability and the feeling of grip than folder phones, we expect that the phones will boost our competitiveness.” KTF said.
This year alone, more than 50% of customers selected slider phones and 21 out of 38 handset models introduced in the third quarter were sliders.
