It looks like Electronic Arts Inc. isn’t happy just being the world’s largest video game publisher anymore. They have teamed with Nettwerk Music Group to launch EA Recordings, a digital music distribution label.

EA Recordings will distribute tunes from the EA owned library of music and re-mixes to online download services like iTunes, Real Rhapsody, Yahoo! and MSN operated services. The partnership will focus on direct-to consumer online sales. An existing joint venture between EA and Cherry Lane Music Publishing, called Next Level Publishing, signs artists and licenses EA music for television, movies and commercials.
