Sanyo has announced their new line of Eneloop rechargeable batteries. They claim the batteries allow users to take up to 4.4 times as many photos as normal dry cell batteries.

According to Sanyo, the Eneloops do not ‘self-discharge’ like other rechargeable batteries and they can be recharged up to 1000 times before losing their initial charge-capacity.

Environmentally conscious consumers will also like that the new batteries are recyclable.
