Your Mac and Palm OS-based handheld device are about to get along a lot better.

Mark/Space announced Wednesday the release of The Missing Sync for Palm OS v5.0, the latest version of their data-synchronization management software for Mac and Palm OS-based devices.

Making use of Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger’s Sync Services Technology, this latest version allows you to sync up contacts and calendars directly with Mac’s master database, bypassing iSync and iSync Palm Conduit. Something Palm Conduit can’t do. The Missing Sync also allows you to synchronize contact photos from Palm Treo smartphones.

So what else is new? Highlights include:

• Folder Sync conduit allows you to define and automatically sync folders on your Mac and Palm handheld;
• iTunes and iPhoto conduits for all your media transfers.

In their release statement, Mark/Space also announced that they have developed a “bridge library” for 3rd party conduit developers to facilitate the migration to Intel-based hardware, which is available free on their website.

The new version is priced at $39.95 USD, $24.95USD to upgrade from the previous version.

System Requirements: Mac OS X v10.39 or later; Palm OS 4 or 5; native USB; Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Some features will require Mac OS X v10.4.2 “Tiger”.
