Alienware has now added two new affordable Centrino notebooks to their lineup, branded as the ‘Area- 51 m5500’ and ‘Area-51 m5700’ they promise to facilitate versatile performance and will respond to the specific needs of many users.
Weighing just 6 lbs, the Area-51 series have an attractive mobile design and are built with Intel Centrino mobile technology as well as DDR2 Alienware-qualified memory. It also boasts of an advanced Graphics control Technology from Alienware and has a 15.4″ wide-screen LCD. Area-51 m5700 features NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 graphics processor and Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition. The product seems to have been specially designed to suit the interest of gaming and multimedia enthusiasts. It also boasts of a 17″ wide-screen LCD with ClearView technology.

Alienware has kept the prices of the notebooks at a very reasonable level, the 15.4” wide-screen m5500 is starting at just US $1,049, while the 17” m5700 starts in at US $1,399.
