Could it get any better than staring into a 20-inch LCD screen? Probably, but for the time being, we’ll have to make do with Sony’s new 20-inch LCD-TV screen. Suffer, we must.
Sony has a new toy on the market, an all-in-one PC bundled with an LCD TV. The VAIO VA TV-PC is available in two models: the VGC-VA10G and the VGC-VA11G. Watch live or record TV on that fabulous 20-inch LCD screen. The hard drive is hefty, with a choice of a 250GB or 320GB.
Equipped with an Intel Pentium 4 processor, the VAIO has 3 or 3.2 Ghz, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, a Radeon X700 video card, and a DVD+R double layer/DVD+-RW drive. Solid. Perhaps the coolest and most practical feature is its ability to turn VHS tapes into DVDs. You can also edit videos. Users can take care of all their computing needs and watch TV when they’re done. Business and pleasure packaged into one powerful PC.
Sony vice-president Mike Abary says you don’t have to have a tower to have power. He’s right. The machine is streamlined, beautiful, and powerful. The new VAIOs will be on the market later this month. Prices range from $1,999.99 to $2,199.99.
