Grundig Mobile Phones to get CSR Bluetooth

CSR, a leading global provider of Bluetooth technology confirmed that its BlueCore3-ROM silicon has been selected by Grundig mobile to Bluetooth-enable one of the company’s first mobile handsets.

The use of BlueCore3-ROM will enable Grundig mobile to offer market-leading Bluetooth connectivity easily and for minimal bill of materials (BOM) and design requirements.

The first models by Grundig mobile have already hit the streets of Spain with Telefonica Moviles, G402i, it offers multimedia functionality including video messaging, downloads and integrated digital camera.

Grundig mobile came into existence with a licensing agreement between Vitelcom Mobile Technology SA and Grundig Multimedia BV. Speaking on this occasion is Carlos Carrero, President of Vitelcom Mobile Technology, “The objective of Grundig mobile is to provide leading-edge mobile technology in a cost-effective package. CSR’s BlueCore-ROM offers exactly that combination of performance and BOM and CSR’s outright leadership of the Bluetooth market made them the logical Bluetooth partner for us.”
