Fujitsu’s HandyDrive is slim and sweet

Laptop enthusiasts in Japan will have the option of enjoying the power of Fujitsu’s HandyDrive, the Company’s first external 2.5-inch hard drive by the end of this week. Carrying a price tag of under $220, Fujitsu’s HandyDrive will have 100GB capacity and is being projected as the thinnest in its bus-powered class at 13.5mm (0.53-inch).

Having a super slim dimension of 15 mm high, 135 mm deep and 75 mm wide, and a weight of less than 200 g, the handydrive is being highlighted as a perfect solution especially for those laptop users who have to carry large volumes of data. The drive also efficiently backs up video, audio, data and high resolution files. The handydrive is bus powered via the USB 2.0 interface which virtually means that there is no requirement of any power source.

Fujitsu ships the handydrive pre-formatted and no drivers are required for Windows 2000, Me, XP (driver required for 98 and below), Mac OS 8.6 and above and Linux.
