For those who were mesmerized by OQO’s WiFI-enabled model 01 personal computer, giving you access to Windows XP while on move last year, here is some good news. The company has now come out with an upgraded version branded as OQO model 01+ which is being projected as the smallest (with pocket size designing) and most mobile Windows XP computer on the market.
The upgraded version boasts of an advanced memory range, larger hard drive, faster USB, an internal speaker and improved pen-based digitizer. Commented Jory Bell, OQO’s CEO on the USP of the pocketable device, “Introduction of the model 01+ brings our customers more memory, more features and more performance in the same small package.”
The new OQO model is also projected as a device that can have an optimum utilization in sectors like public safety, healthcare, field service, insurance, manufacturing, sales and pharmaceutical. And this is a point that is also endorsed by some notable experts. Says Rob Enderle, Principal Analyst, Enderle Group, “The OQO remains one of the most unique personal computers on the market and is proving to be valuable in industries such as healthcare and public safety. In a world of otherwise similar products the OQO stands out as unique, amazing, and incredibly useful”.
To buy new upgraded version 01+, the users, however, will have to shell out $1899 – $400 dollars more than the price of the original model 01.
